CarAdvice Scoops Prestigious Consumer Website of The Year At Mumbrella Publish Awards

Announcement posted by CarAdvice 23 Oct 2015

Sydney, October 23, 2015 – CarAdvice.com.au, Australia’s leading independent publisher of automotive content, has seen off competition from Buzzfeed, The Roar, Taste.com.au, The Urban List and Pedestrian.TV to win the award for Website of the Year (consumer/custom) at the Publish Awards in Sydney on Wednesday. CarAdvice national sales director Benn Sykes was also named runner up in the Salesperson/team of the year (consumer/custom) category.

The Publish Awards recognise the best in print and digital publishing across Australia. The awards are organised by Mumbrella in association with Publishers Australia and have been running for 18 years.

The Awards panel included representatives from across the publishing industry including Mumbrella, ABC, News, Fairfax, and Mamamia. The judges noted CarAdvice's extensive coverage of the automotive market and unique editorial style that offers a mix of informative and entertaining content with an increasing emphasis on video content.

The CarAdvice website has experienced sustained growth with unique audience increasing by 41% over the past 12 months. With average session duration approaching six minutes, CarAdvice has one of the most engaged audiences in the industry.

The judges also noted CarAdvice’s highly active user community which has contributed on average more than 10,000 pieces of user generated content a month in the form of detailed owner reviews and ratings, and comments on articles meaning CarAdvice provides car buyers with expert reviews as well as the opinions and feedback from real life car owners.

"To be recognised as the best content publishing website in Australia, not just in automotive but in general, is truly unbelievable," CarAdvice co-founder Alborz Fallah said.  “It is a huge validation for our strategy of investing in web-technology as well creating and producing the best written and video content that resonates with our ever-growing audience.”

CarAdvice CEO and managing director Andrew Beecher said: “This award makes me incredibly proud of the recognition for the whole team, from our developers that build and manage the site, to the editorial and video team which creates such popular and engaging content, and the sales team which understands the automotive industry better than anyone.  Compelling content categorically drives new car sales for manufacturers and at CarAdvice we know how to engage consumers right throughout the model lifecycle  - not just at launch.  We are closing out a tremendous 2015 and look forward to raising the bar again in 2016.”
