WebSpy and ContentKeeper join forces to provide complete employee Internet management solution

Announcement posted by WebSpy 11 Mar 2004

Bundled reporting and filtering solution provides significant cost benefits
Perth-based internet and email monitoring software developer WebSpy Ltd (ASX: WSY) and Canberra-based content filtering solutions developer ContentKeeper Technologies Pty Ltd have entered into an OEM agreement to provide an enhanced web reporting and filtering solution.
WebSpy and ContentKeeper are leaders in their respective fields of reporting and filtering. They have both substantially increased sales domestically and internationally despite the strengthening Australian dollar. The bundling of their applications provides organisations with a complete employee Internet management solution and significant cost benefits.
WebSpy and Content Keeper have combined their already strong products to provide the most powerful and cost-effective web filtering and reporting solution on the Australian, if not the world, market, said ContentKeeper managing director David Wigley. We are putting management back in control and enabling business-oriented, cost-effective usage of the Internet.
Content Keeper will offer a slightly modified version of WebSpys reporting and analysis software to its clients, with significant optimisations based on the key strengths of the ContentKeeper solution.
The combined solution will allow organisations significant cost savings and provide for improved efficiencies through knowledge gained by managers on web surfing and email usage habits, said WebSpy CEO Jack Andrys. It will also reduce Internet access costs and achieve bandwidth savings by limiting and/or controlling non-business related use. There will also be reduced legal exposure to workplace relations issues, such as sexual harassment cases, child pornography and the adverse publicity that an incident would generate.
Andrys emphasised that the solution should be implemented with appropriate usage policies so that the monitoring was transparent and improved business bottom line with the support of all Internet users throughout the organisation. He added that understanding what was acceptable Internet usage in the particular organisations was critical.
