BEYOND BANK ANNOUNCES MAJOR SUPPORT FOR BUSHFIRE VICTIMS

Announcement posted by Beyond Bank Australia 11 Dec 2015

11 December 2015
Beyond Bank Australia will donate a massive $30,000 for residents of South Australia devastated by the Pinery bushfire.

The money will be dispersed through the Vinnie’s Bushfire Appeal for distribution to those in urgent need of support.

“The people we are speaking to in the relief centres all have a unique set of circumstances and needs and the generous donation from Beyond Bank provides Vinnies with the flexibility to give tailored support to help people get back on their feet as quickly as possible with dignity,” said St.Vincent de Paul, CEO, David Wark.

“The amazing generosity we have witnessed over the last few weeks from organisations like Beyond Bank has been incredible. People have offered whatever they could to help.”

It is expected that the recovery effort could be a long road ahead especially for the residents who have not only lost their homes, possessions but in many cases, their livelihoods.

“The immediate danger for locals is not over, the painful process of letting residents visit their homes to see what’s been lost has begun and Beyond Bank Australia will help provide support to affected residents during the rebuilding process,” said the Bank’s CEO, Robert Keogh.

“Our thoughts are with the victims, their friends, families and everyone who is affected by this disaster.  We encourage anyone who would like to add their support to visit a Beyond Bank branch, our website or even call through with their donation.

“We also want to make sure that Beyond Bank customers know we are here to help if they have been affected by the fires, and we’re encouraging them to come and talk to us if they are concerned about their financial situation due to losses suffered in the blaze.

“It’s at times like this we always see so many amazing people pulling together to help others.  There have already been countless demonstrations over the last few days where we have seen exactly that and I am sure we will see many more as the community comes together to support each other. “
