Announcing Magda Szubański as Polart 2015 Melbourne Ambassador

PolArt 2015 Melbourne is ecstatic to announce that Magda Szubański has agreed to be its Ambassador. Magda is one of Australia’s best known and most loved performers.
“It is only fitting that with her extensive experience in a variety of different areas within the Arts that we asked her to be Ambassador of this Festival” says Jan Szuba (Mr) President of PolArt 2015 Melbourne.
“It is not very easy to forget about my Polish heritage, when each day my last name is a constant reminder. It has been an interesting journey discovering more and more about the culture and history that has had an impact on my life. I was given an amazing opportunity through the making of ‘Who do you think you are?’ and more recently my book ‘Reckoning’ to learn about how my history influenced who I am” says Magda.
Jan adds with typical Polish humour, “I believe this will be one of the very few events in Australia where most people involved will have no problem pronouncing her name.”

“No matter how much Polish blood you have inside you, it is something to be very proud of and I know PolArt 2015 Melbourne will give you the opportunity to get in touch with some of your and my cultural heritage” Magda adds. “For those of you who are not of Polish origin, I invite you to take part because you know if it is Polish, you are in for bloody good time”.
PolArt 2015 Melbourne is the largest festival of its kind outside of Poland. Commencing on 27 December 2015 through to 3 January 2016, it will bring together 1,100 performers across 22 venues. Tickets and further information are available at www.polart2015.com.au.
