RAD Announces Phase 2.0 of Fully Modular Multiservice Access Concentrator

Announcement posted by Paclink 14 Aug 2002

Paclink has announced the release of RAD Data Communications phase 2.0 of the ACE-2002, a fully modular multiservice access concentrator that introduces many more plug-in modules, increasing the multiservice capabilities of the product, as follows:

The STM-4 ATM UNI module connects to high speed ATM switches
The Frame Relay module provides Frame Relay transport services over ATM
The HDLC module interconnects legacy customer premises equipment over as ATM network using the HDLC protocol.
The IMA module connects to an IMA interface of another ATM device using E1/T1 links.

For mobile operators migrating from 2G to 3G cellular networks, ACE-2002 supports both E1 CES (TDM) and UNI and IMA (ATM) traffic, enabling co-location of both networks over the same transport infrastructure.

VLAN mapping and VLAN prioritization to ATM provides QoS for LAN applications sent over the WAN.
Available from Paclink, the ACE-2002 ranges from AUD$19,000 (RRP).
