MOVIES UNDER THE STARS SET THE SCENE FOR CHARITIES

Announcement posted by Beyond Bank Australia 27 Jan 2016

27 January 2016
Beyond Bank Australia is delighted to be the community banking partner of Perth’s hugely popular McDonald’s Community Cinemas.

Screening every night until April 9, the community cinema under the stars can be found at various picturesque venues across Perth and is the only outdoor cinema where all profits go to local children’s charities.

“Community is at the heart of everything we do at Beyond Bank and the opportunity to support what is such a fantastic and affordable event was just too good to refuse,” said Peter Rutter, General Manger, Community Development at Beyond Bank.

“Plus, one look at the movies being shown and it would be tempting to go every night!”

The Bank’s support helps cover event costs as well as assisting the army of over 400 volunteers who manage the screenings at Burswood, Murdoch, Mandurah and Bassendean.

“We are unique among the outdoor cinemas in Perth in that all profits from the season are proudly donated to charities dedicated to improving the quality of life for children living with a health or physical ability crisis,” said Event Founder and Coordinator, Ken Gibbons.

“Since we began 14 years ago, we have raised more than $6 million and last season over $800,000 was donated to Western Australian charities.

“We are privileged to be a part of this unique community film fund-raising event bringing together people who care about local community causes and community service.

“We are proud to receive support from partners like Beyond Bank as it goes a long way to ensuring the longevity and quality of our community film events that support the wider community.  ”
