San Remo Artisan pasta set to showcase SA's seasonal produce at this year's Carnevale

Announcement posted by Leverage PR 01 Feb 2016

South Australia is set to display its world-class, locally-grown offerings at the nation’s largest Italian cultural festival, when San Remo brand ambassadors combine seasonal produce with Artisan San Remo Pasta at a series of cooking demonstrations as part of this year’s Carnevale.

The masterclasses and its ongoing role as patron sponsor demonstrate San Remo’s support to the Italian community as a family company with strong community values.

San Remo brand ambassador, Laura Cassai, said the cooking demonstration meant that everyone can see first-hand how to combine seasonal ingredients with quality artisan pasta made from only the finest Durum wheat to create a stunning pasta dish.

“Artisan San Remo pasta is characterised by unusual shapes which make it a good choice for entertaining, and the rough and rustic texture combines well with a range of sauces and ingredients to make everyday special by creating easy-to-prepare meals that are perfectly suited to today’s busy lifestyle,” Laura says.

“A growing number of people want recipe ideas that use fresh seasonal vegetables, our amazing local meats and spectacular seafood - and the cooking demonstrations that we have planned at this year’s Carnevale will ensure people are spoilt for choice,” she says.

“Having grown up in a household with a proud Italian heritage, pasta meals have always featured at major family celebrations - and still hold an important place at the dining table for when generations of family and friends come together to laugh, love, and enjoy life’s special moments.”

San Remo brand ambassador, Adam Swanson, will also hold centre stage during a number of masterclasses, when he will draw on his recent pilgrimage experience to Italy, and share traditional cooking methods used by generations in some of Italy’s most picturesque regions.

This year sees the return of the popular Kids in the Kitchen Masterclasses, which encourage children to unlock their inner chef, try new and interesting flavours, and make the kitchen a place where families can come together and share a love of tasty food.

People can also learn more about the process that is used to turn quality durum wheat into pasta at the San Remo display.
