Legato Announces Support for IBM Network Attached Storage (NAS) Products

Legato NetWorker protects business-critical information for IBM TotalStorage NAS 200, 300 and 300G customers
Legato Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: LGTO), a worldwide leader in enterprise storage management software, today announced that Legato NetWorker 6.1.1(r) is certified as interoperating with the IBM TotalStorage Network Attached Storage 200, 300 and 300G products to provide continuous operation in the network attached storage (NAS) environment. In addition, NetWorker and the IBM NAS products will be available from selected resellers as a data protection solution.

Legato NetWorker 6.1.1 delivers reliable protection of business-critical information residing on IBM NAS storage with optimum flexibility. NetWorker automates and centralizes backup and recovery operations across Unix including IBM AIX, Linux, NetWare and Windows platforms.

IBM customers can use NetWorker 6.1.1 with IBM NAS products, locally or remotely, across high-speed gigabit Ethernet networks. NetWorker 6.1.1 also enables the IBM NAS devices to be protected across a SAN to FC-attached libraries, and utilize advanced capabilities such as dynamic drive sharing to further increase backup performance and increase ROI.
