Sydney, Australia – 17 February 2016 - Fourteen months following Brother International Australia’s national launch of the world’s first hobby cutting technology with an inbuilt scanner, the company is unveiling a gamut of exciting upgrade features with the release of the new CM900; the second generation of the revolutionary Brother ScanNCut range.

The new ScanNCut CM900 builds upon the original technology with a 30% larger screen for improved image viewing and editing capability, a new 12” x 24” (30cm x  60cm) scanning area for easy integration of large designs and the introduction of RGB colour recognition when using the 300DPI scanning feature for direct cutting around images.

The next generation of the Brother ScanNCut also features an additional 160 designs to provide over 1,000 built in designs and 15 built in fonts, along with the exclusive capability to read embroidery applique line data (PES & PHC files). This allows the ScanNCut Machine to cut the applique fabric for all machine embroidery designs.

Connectivity and file access has also been addressed with the new CM900 offering wireless network access for instantaneous two-way connectivity using ScanNCut Canvas, Brother’s free cloud based online software. Along with the added Wi-Fi capability, the new generation of ScanNCut also features an additional port for easy import and export of design files between PC and the CM900.

When Brother introduced the first ScanNCut to the market, the industry named the technology a show stopper. The original CM550 was awarded two of the most prestigious awards in the crafting and technology industries with an Innovation & Design Award at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and a unanimous vote for the #1 Most Creative Item at the Craft & Hobby Mega Show in Anaheim by the Craft & Hobby Association (CHA).

The next generation of Brother’s ScanNCut range continues on from the original range’s award winning innovation so users can continue to scan anything they see, create any artwork they like, save it to the machines memory and produce endless cut designs without using a computer or having to purchase a single cartridge, except with greater flexibility, speed and ease of use in mind.

Sherene Grace, Marketing Manager, Home Sewing Machines at Brother International Australia said “Since coming onto the market, the ScanNCut range has delivered a dramatic shift to how quilters, crafters and other hobby groups create projects. The focus on enhanced speed and ease of use with the new CM900 we believe will drive even greater uptake in the marketplace and a wide range of new custom applications for the technology.”

The new Brother ScanNCut CM900 is available through Authorised Dealers and selected Craft & Hobby outlets. For a list of Where to Buy or more information about the extensive Brother product line, please visit the Brother website on www.brother.com.au.
