CLEARTEXT and MessageLabs join forces on messaging security

Announcement posted by Cleartext Pty Ltd 01 Jun 2005

CLEARTEXT Pty Ltd, a leading provider of secure email and instant messaging solutions, today announced a reseller agreement with MessageLabs (Asia-Pacific) Ltd, the leading provider of messaging security and management services, to deliver managed messaging and policy compliance services to small to medium businesses in Australia.
Under MessageLabs global partner program, CLEARTEXT is now a Certified Partner, which enables it to resell MessageLabs comprehensive range of managed email security services, specifically tailored to small and medium business in Australia. These services provide protection from viruses, spam and other unwanted content, as well as help organisations to control content delivered via email.
Cleartext will also be integrating MessageLabs services with its policy compliance solutions to offer service-based solutions vital to corporate compliance and email communications. CLEARTEXT's managed PolicyMatter service addresses the issue of user awareness by ensuring employees read, understand and agree to acceptable email use policies. PolicyMatter is a solution for managing the full email policy lifecycle creation, presentation, testing, understanding, agreement, detailed reporting and audit trails.
Small to medium businesses face increasing pressure to build and maintain viable online businesses, but have often been held back by security concerns that threaten their productivity, credibility and resources. Now there is also the requirement to show compliance with Australian regulations and standards, said David Banes, Managing Director for CLEARTEXT.
By offering MessageLabs services along with CLEARTEXT solutions, we can help these businesses to seamlessly achieve compliance with government and industry regulations, as well as secure their email communications, he added.
In addition, the challenges associated with the need to continually invest in hardware, software and internal resources to proactively stay ahead of new and emerging threats is often difficult for small to medium businesses to keep up with.
"Small to medium businesses face the same email security challenges of much larger businesses, yet they often do not have the resources or money to confidently select, effectively implement, properly administer and fully utilise the right security infrastructure, said Andy Lake, Director of Partners, Asia Pacific for MessageLabs.
These businesses are increasingly outsourcing their email systems to managed email security service providers as a way of keeping email-borne threats and unwanted content outside their networks. This enables them to get on with their core day-to-day jobs, rather than spending considerable time and effort tackling these issues, he added.
