Escape Haven’s Luxurious Bali Yoga Retreat Programme

Announcement posted by Escape Haven Holdings 10 Mar 2016

This month we highlight Escape Haven’s Luxurious Bali Yoga Retreat Programme. This programme is ideal for those women who enjoy yoga travel destinations with a difference, and their yoga instructors are certified and the best in their field, with years of experience.

At the Escape Haven Luxurious Bali Yoga Retreat Programme yoga and meditation are offered as a blend of morning and afternoon sessions. Most classes are 90-minutes long and taught in their purpose built, fan-cooled yoga studio set amid tropical frangipani gardens and are suitable for all levels.

Escape Haven’s yoga retreats in both Seminyak and Canggu have been designed so that each yoga and meditation session allows guests to truly take time out to reconnect through the mind, the body and the soul. They have been tailored to complement their surfing or spa program and restore balance to the body before and after active days out in the sun and water. Yoga is inclusive for all people no matter what age, size or fitness level, and their yoga and meditation classes are suitable for all levels of experience, from beginners to advanced.

Escape Haven Yoga sessions include a blend of rejuvenating styles of yoga - Hatha, Vinyasa flow and Kundalini. Hatha Yoga is the term applied to a vast body of practices geared toward self-realisation through perfecting the relationship of body mind and spirit. Vinyasa yoga, in which movement is synchronized to the breath, is sometimes also called flow yoga, because of the smooth way that the poses run together and become like a dance. The breath becomes an important component because the teacher will instruct you to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. Vinyasa is literally translated from Sanskrit as meaning ‘connection’. In terms of yoga asana, we can interpret this as a connection between movement and breath.

For many centuries Kundalini Yoga was a well-kept secret known only to initiates and masters within the spiritual confines of one to one teaching and closed orders in India and Tibet. The power of raising the Kundalini energy that resides within was considered too powerful, and if misused, too dangerous to be given free access. Kundalini yoga is one of the yoga styles that allow a non-stressful way of working to help promote flexibility, energy, serenity and a sense of greater personal empowerment. Through the use of chanting and Pranayama exercises along with yoga postures, the channelling and release of the inherent Kundalini energy can be achieved. This allows the practitioner to move into a state of altered consciousness, connecting to a mystical and profound level of spiritual awareness. Those choosing to take part in Escape Haven Yoga will receive a ‘take-home’ pack that includes breathing, yoga and meditation sequences so that people can practice these at home.
