Men, say goodbye to Dr Google and hello to Dr Sicknote!

Announcement posted by Rhetoric PR 21 Mar 2016

With the successful launch of Australia’s newest medical e-consultation website Dr Sicknote last December, Aussie men now have no excuse to keep putting off doctor appointments.

With men seeking medical advice 20% less frequently than women*, Dr Sicknote’s latest technology innovation allows quicker and more convenient access to medical certificates online. The website provides a 100 per cent confidential, secure and convenient way for patients to gain a medical certificate for minor ailments and referrals without having to attend a medical clinic.

Dr Sicknote’s founder, Dr Sachin Patel, points out the common reasons for men not visiting the doc is the belief that “there’s probably nothing wrong, they’d rather tough it out,  or simply they do not have a regular doctor they visit”.

“A lot of the men that visit me in my GP are running busy lives, and simply don’t have the time, nor patience to sit in the waiting room.”

However, since the inception of Dr Sicknote, 54% of the patients using the service are men.”

“The most common ailments I am treating them for are bad colds and influenza, gastro, migraines and sprains and strains caused by minor injuries.

“Confidentiality and discreetness is extremely important to men, and our aim is to provide a service allowing safe online access to some medical services where physical contact with a doctor is not required,” Patel points out.
The process is very simple and requires patients to complete a quick form on the website and book in to talk with one of Dr Sicknote’s GPs via Skype. The website is backed by a team of fully qualified and registered Australian GPs who have a broad range of experience in traditional general practice surgeries.

Since its inception Dr Sicknote website has had over 20,000 unique visitors in under 2 months, including the quieter holiday period. Dr Sicknote has already issued over 160 medical certificates.

Remember guys, there are no good reasons not to see the doctor, only excuses. Don’t wait if you have a minor ailment or need a prescription or referral. Visit Dr Sicknote online today at www.drsicknote.com.au.
