Pet Minders on PetCloud help Pet Owners go on a Holiday

With flights, accommodation & tour packages getting booked out over the Easter weekend, it was a busy time not just for people going on holidays but also for Pet Sitters on PetCloud. Described as an Airbnb-style service for pets, a new website is aiming to help pet owners find accommodation for their companion animals no matter how last minute. PetCloud is a Brisbane-based startup that was created to fill the growing need in the pet boarding market for affordable and local pet accommodation.

The only pet sitting company in Australia to be partnered with RSPCA Qld, VIC, WA, TAS, SA & Darwin. The website links owners with trusted local pet sitters — and there are no cages in sight.  Both owners and sitters post profiles on the site, and can search for a match based on the pet’s medical issues, exercise and food preferences as well as the sitter’s interests, other pets, availability, nightly boarding rate and even pictures of their backyard.

Redcliffe resident, Nicole Flannigan is amongst the top pet sitters in Brisbane. She is also an RSPCA Dog trainer. Charging around $35 per night, PetCloud allows her to pet-sit local dogs and cats while making some money.  “I think it is a really good idea and I can see why putting a dog into a Kennel is hard on the dog & the owners.” Nicole says, “I will do everything I can to help take care of animals so they can stay in their forever homes. I text pet owners every day letting them know how their pet is doing and I am also happy to Skype.” Nicole is offering her pet sitting services through the website and is a pet owner herself.

Over 20,000 fans have liked PetCloud on social media since it officially went live last year in April and the service is in demand and growing.
