Express Data appointed as a Quantum distributor

Leading Australian value-add distributor to take on Quantum storage products
Express Data, a broad-based distributor of high technology products, has been appointed as a new distributor by data protection and network storage provider, Quantum Corporation.
Chosen to represent Quantums across Australia and New Zealand, the deal was signed by Express Data Managing Director, Ross Cochrane and Quantums General Manager, Australia/New Zealand, Simon Bills.
Quantums solutions add substantially to our storage offering for the reseller channel, said Peter Masters, Express Datas Marketing and Operations Director, In past surveys of our customer base, resellers often noted that Quantum is the vendor that would offer the greatest value to their existing business with Express Data.
Mike Sparkes, Quantum SSG Product Marketing Manager Asia Pacific, welcomed the contract, saying, Quantums extensive range fits perfectly with Express Datas model of supplying the best product for the customers needs, backed by extensive in-house expertise.
For Quantum, the appointment presents the opportunity to leverage the strength of Express Datas relationships with the top Tier 1 and Tier 2 resellers in the region, to whom a detailed communication program about the appointment is about to commence.
Quantums product range include storage solutions for businesses ranging from work group to enterprise class, including new lower cost AutoLoaders, Enterprise libraries for NAS and SAN connect and most excitingly, a range of new disk-based Enhanced Backup products for fast backup and restore, said Masters, These products will complement many of our core focus technology groups and existing vendors, in particular adding value to offerings from VERITAS, HP and CA.

Express Data has appointed David Peach as product manager to manage the Quantum account, while a team of pre-sales engineers will assist resellers with any integration and solution questions. A dedicated storage expert will promote all storage vendors including Quantum and will also provide support to their national team of 71 sales people.
Quantum has begun a sales and technical training program for Express Data staff, due for completion before the end of February.
