Technological Development In Sports Wear

The rate of technological development in our society is enormous, and there has been a dramatic and very welcome shift in the active wear fashion over the past 5 years but unfortunately for Australian's it's been all too hard to get our hands on the brands designing and manufacturing beautiful, modern and innovative active, gym and sports wear.

Theactivebloc.com.au prides it self on bringing exclusive active wear and leisure wear collections from the leading international fashion brands we all know. Many of the seasonal collections we release are only avaibable in Australia via The Active Bloc. Not only are the active wear collections we sell fashion forward but constructed with materials that push the boundaries of intelligent fabric performance. Every seam, zip and fiber is designed to facilitate maximum performance.

Our active wear products feature more than of the following technologies;

Generally clothing will stretch 2 ways, across the grain. 4 Way will stretch across and lengthways resulting in better freedom of movement. Don't feel restrected though your activity no matter how many layers your wearing.

Moisture management or moisture wicking tech fabric is designed to draw sweat & perspiration off the skin to the exterior of the fabric. It is much easier for the moisture to evaporate on the surface of the fabric than when it's between the garment and the skin.

Very important in golf clothing for the active Australian. Fabrics can be made from many types of fibers, including cotton, wool, and nylon. Most fibers naturally absorb some UV radiation, and some have elastic threads that pull the fibers tightly together, reducing the spaces between the holes. Some clothing will have UPF rating up to 50+

Some of our performance shirts now feature Anti-Odor technologies. These shirts contain silver nanoparticals shrunk down to sizes one billionth of a meter thin and embedded in the fabric to prevent bacteria that is produced when you sweat.

The most basic property that sports clothing must have is breathability. Here, breathability denotes the ability of the garments to transfer the moist vapour through the pore of garments. Breathable active wear ensure rapid moisture vapour transmission through garments, thus making any physically strenuous activity comfortable.

This technology is in light weight outerwear and acts against or opposes the penetration of wind or air, removing the chill factor when worn. Windproof outerwear is generally combined with water repellent technologies to create light weight breathable outwear that will block the wind and a rain shower.

Water repellent technology resists water from absorbing/penetrating into the fabric up to a light rainfall keeping you dry. Water repellent technology is generally added to windproof products. Water repellent outerwear is lighter than full waterproof pieces.

There are two main features to look for when shopping for a new waterproof clothing. They include breathability rating and waterproofing rating.  Breathability rating is important as if the garment is not breathable it may keep you dry from the elements but you will perspire and then become wet from the inside thus becoming cold and uncomfortable. Waterproofing rating is important obviously to protect you from moisture, rain and snow keeping you dry and warm.
