Australian Ajilius Promises to Slash Data Warehouse Development Times

Sydney, NSW, June 6, 2016– Ajilius is a data warehouse automation tool that follows the Kimball methodology for building star-schema data warehouses. As such, it speeds the development of data warehouses and almost (with the exception of the occasional transformation) eliminates hand-coding, and 'guarantees' payback within the first project of use.

The product generates SQL code to build and maintain data warehouses for a number of DB platforms:- Microsoft SQL Server, Redshift, PostgreSQL/EnterpriseDB, Snowflake, ExaSol, Azure SQL and Pivotal Greenplum. 

It is a web-based product with a UI optimised for use even on a tablet. It can be installed on-premises or in the Cloud.

With little training, Ajilius allows you to quickly create a data warehouse from most data sources, including CSV files, Excel spreadsheets and anything having an ODBC/JDBC interface. There is native DB connectivity for a wide range of popular databases - including those deployed in the Cloud.

Where Ajilius really shines is when it comes to making the inevitable changes required to a data warehouse. Typically, this is the most painful and expensive aspect of owning a data warehouse since developers must locate and restructure their ETL code by hand. The metadata-driven approach of Ajilius makes this process straightforward and is done in a fraction of the time of hand-coded development. 

Since Ajilius also supports true multi-tenanted data warehouse environments, it makes light work of updating multiple data warehouse instances. Ajilius is therefore perfect for OEM applications where multiple customer data warehouses are required.

One very useful feature is Ajilius' 'three-click migration', where a data warehouse currently under its management can be complete migrated to a different DB platform (one of the above) in just three mouse clicks. This allows you to properly test a potential new data warehouse platform (for suitability/performance etc), or provide additional security by running a backup data warehouse in parallel with production.

Ajilius provides a service for existing WhereScape customers where current WhereScape metadata can be converted to run under Ajilius - thus providing a migration path from traditional 'on-premises' data warehouses to the Cloud while offering simplified and lower-cost, on-going maintenance.

Currently, an optional add-on creates a metadata layer for QlikView, so Ajilius data warehouses are instantly available in Qlik. Support for more BI tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Yellowfin) is coming soon.
