AMD announces support for Microsoft Windows Small Business Server2003

AMD Opteron(tm) processors and Small Business Server 2003 provide value today and a bridge for meeting future business needs
Today at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference, AMD (NYSE: AMD) announced support for Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 on AMD Opteron(tm) processors based on AMD64 technology. This combination will provide a high-performance, cost-effective server solution for small-to-medium (SMB) business customers that can support their most critical IT needs, including file and print, e-mail, Web services, and database services.
At the conference, AMD is showcasing AMD Opteron processor-based servers from Avnet, and the VSP Server program platforms being manufactured by Celestica. These platforms provide customers a variety of choices for both office productivity and data center performance using Windows Small Business Server 2003, and offer configurations for pedestal and 1P through 2P rack mount servers.

AMD has performed compatibility testing of Windows Small Business Server 2003 on AMD Opteron processor-based servers, and has made Small Business Server 2003 as part of the AMD software validation suite going forward.
