Noggin’s cloud-based incident, emergency and risk management software lands at Belfast International Airport

Announcement posted by Noggin 09 Jun 2016

Dublin, June 2016: Noggin’s award-winning software platform was recently selected by Belfast International Airport (BIA) as the best-of-breed solution for its airport incident management system. The Noggin platform will be used to record, manage and report on all incidents, emergencies, hazards and risks across the airport. The innovative software was chosen, after a successful trial, to allow staff in the airport’s Health & Safety and Airside Safety Standards departments to simply and effectively create and manage all airport incidents via both desktop and mobile devices. It will not only replace an existing legacy communications system, but will also provide real-time situational awareness with geospatial functionality and the ability to quickly generate reports and analytics for the senior management team on demand.

Kevin Napier, Health and Safety Manager for Belfast International Airport said:

"Having reviewed and trialled the Noggin OCA system, we at Belfast International Airport were keen to be the first airport in the UK and Ireland to adopt what is clearly a best-in-class solution. We drew a lot of comfort from the fact that the technology has already been successfully implemented at so many major international airports in the Asia-Pacific region and look forward to recognising the benefits the software provides in terms of a more intuitive and efficient way of logging, managing and reporting on all types of incidents across the airport."

With Noggin’s proven track record in the airport sector in the Asia-Pacific region, Belfast International Airport will be the first airport to adopt the next generation software in the UK. Servicing over 4 million passengers per annum, BIA is the second busiest airport on the island of Ireland, and one of the top 12 busiest airports in the whole of the UK (by total passenger traffic). The customised implementation of the Noggin software will not only enable BIA to respond faster and more effectively to all types of day-to-day operational incidents, but also activate major emergency plans and automate mass communications should a crisis arise.

CEO of Noggin, James Boddam-Whetham, is eager to be able to support Belfast International Airport’s incident management efforts:

“Noggin has always been a pioneering organisation, so it’s exciting to see our software take hold in Northern Ireland. We are proud to have Belfast International Airport on board and confident that they will find everything they need to manage day-to-day incidents as well as major events, and much more with the Noggin platform, like the other major airports using our incident management platform.”
