Fun In The Snow With Hireace This Winter

Announcement posted by Hireace 13 Jun 2016

While some of us dread the winter months with their short cold days and long and cold nights, there is a group of people who can’t wait for the snow to fall, and here we are referring to skiers and snow boarders. A huge number of Kiwis, and especially young people, are gearing up for the snow season, and of course, a similarly large number of people come from overseas to sample our world famous ski fields.

For those who want to get together and have a fun road trip on their way to the mountain in the North Island and to the myriad of ski fields in the South Island, Hireace suggest they hire a minibus to drive to the snow, and for all their skis and snow boards they can also hire a shuttle trailer to make life easier.

With the ski season kicking off in the 2nd week of June, everyone in the ski areas is gearing up for the influx of Kiwis and visitors alike. Similarly, the experienced team at Hireace are ready and waiting at this time of the year to provide people with the best vehicles and trailers, using only New Zealand designed and built Briford trailers that have been proven in the rental industry.

To this end, Hireace are committed to the safety of our roads, and they also have some important advice, particularly for overseas travellers who wish to hire a vehicle in this country. For instance, for those hiring one of their vehicles on an International Licence, they recommend people check out the New Zealand Road Code by visiting www.drivingtests.co.nz/roadcode/car which offers a free road code quiz. This quiz is a great way for visitors to get up to speed with New Zealand road rules.

The Hireace team advise that for all closely populated areas, a general speed limit of 50km/h is fixed. Areas with a speed limit of 70km/h will be enforced, and limited speed ways are established with a speed of 100km/h or 50km/h depending on conditions and circumstances. The key points for people to take note of are keeping left at all times, using a seat belt at all times, respect the speed limits and slow down on corners. Drivers should use the passing lane to overtake slower vehicles and never stop in the middle of the road. It is also a good idea to rest up between trips and drive to the conditions. It hardly needs to be said that people should never drink and drive and never use their mobile phone when driving.
