About Kangatraining Australia

Kangatraining is unique because it allows mother and baby to exercise TOGETHER.

It’s a complete workout for mums, but unlike traditional classes, new mums don’t need to worry about finding a babysitter as they carry their new babies right on them while they’re doing the workout!

This safe and effective program was designed specifically for postnatal mothers, which incorporates just the right amount of cardio and strength training when returning to exercise after pregnancy. It concentrates on re-strengthening your abdominal area and pelvic floor muscles as well as tending to those tight areas from daily life with a baby.

There are so many benefits associated with Kangatraining – it really is more than just a workout.

Promoting a closer bond between mother and baby, Social interaction and meeting new friends. No need to leave your baby with a babysitter or minder, your baby is a part of the action and loves being involved throughout the workout.

·      Feel good endorphins from exercising assists with postnatal depression, anxiety, sleep deprivation and making new mothers feel more positive and happy.

·      Babies nearly always fall asleep with the constant rocking movement and comfort from being against their mothers’ chest. This gives the mother some ‘time out’ and to do something for herself and her body.

BaBabywearing education from each qualified Kangatrainer assists with mothers learning how to safely and correctly carry their baby.

Sarah Tarrant, Australia’s country leader, said: “I am so proud of our Kangatraining team, it just goes to show how important this program has been to mums and bubs all over Australia. Becoming a mother is such a beautiful yet busy time, and knowing we have trainers out there who support, motivate and inspire mums to exercise, have fun and bond with their babies is such a positive step forward on so many levels”

The Awards were hosted on Gold Coast on the 4th of June 2016. Tina Harris from the ABC Kids TV hit show Lah-Lah's Adventures as host of the awards and Elka Whalan nee Graham the former Australian Olympic Champion as guest speaker.

Some of this years winners saw some small to medium businesses recognised and also larger names such as Cricket Australia’s Big Bash League and AFL Auskick.

“The AFL is proud to see the program receive national recognition and thanks to What’s On 4 Junior Awards and Bio Island for their support.” Says Fiona McLarty, National NAB AFL Auskick Manager.

What's On 4 Australia Managing Director Elise Easdown adds: "I'm so excited for our 2016 winners.  We received such great feedback from our finalists and winners last year and can see Australia really does support these awards.  All the businesses that were nominee’s, finalists and winners should be very proud to have been recognised and supported by their communities”
