Announcement posted by Foursticks 14 Nov 2002

David Bohn, CEO of network performance specialist Foursticks, was named Deloitte South Australian Innovator of the Year at the annual iBall Innovators and Investors Dinner, held at Adelaide Convention Centre last night.

An engineer who has helped develop emerging products for some of worlds biggest technology brands, Mr Bohn won the award for his leadership role in building the fast-growing Adelaide company, which has developed software that creates express lanes through networks for business critical applications.

Stephen Harvey, Deloitte Corporate Finance Partner and one of the award judges, said the Deloitte South Australian Innovator of the Year sought to recognise people who turn intellectual capital into wealth.

"Innovation is much more than creating new ideas and business concepts, Mr Harvey said. What sets one idea apart from another is the people behind it.

This year's winner, David Bohn, is an outstanding example of homegrown talent. His ideas, passion and commitment to developing a team of exceptionally talented people have helped drive Foursticks to become a true leader in the international IT marketplace."

Mr Bohns passion to build a global brand based in South Australia has attracted the cream of the ICT crop, including Adelaide-born, ex Silicon Valley success story Alan Noble, who joined the company after meeting Mr Bohn at the World Congress on IT 2002, held in Adelaide in March.

Foursticks has also snared two leading players in the network industry. Martin Sheahan, former Southern Region Manager for Nortel Networks Australias Enterprise Division, has joined Foursticks as State Manager, Vic, while former Cisco senior systems engineer Dennis Letizia has taken the role of Technical Marketing Engineer.

Foursticks has raised early stage seed funding from Australian and US investors and is now building the channel to take its product to market in Australia, Asia and the US.

We create and then commercialise technologies and our way of doing that is to attract the best of the best, Mr Bohn says. You dont need to work overseas for very long before you meet world class Australians.

Were keen to invest in the local industry and attract international talent back to Adelaide.

Customers using Foursticks NP include BRL Hardy, Santos, Bridgestone, Seely International, government departments and schools, with product trials under way throughout Asia.
