 SALAMANCA WHARF HOTEL - HOBART

Definite Foodie Appeal – Hobart’s Prime Location Surrounded By Gastronomic Temptations

HOBART, 2016:  Salamanca Wharf Hotel offers guests a true boutique contemporary apartment hotel accommodation experience in the heart of Hobart’s premier food, drink and art and craft precincts.

Located at 17A Castray Esplanade in Salamanca Place, the Hotel’s Ground Floor is home to Salamanca Wharf Café, sought after by locals for its great coffee and breakfasts.

Right next door is the soon to be opened Japanese Restaurant Kosatin. It will extend the famous Salamanca food precinct right along Castray Esplanade.  The hidden away South Seas Cocktail Lounge snuggles between the new Japanese restaurant and the existing Blue Eye.  Rumour has it that a new Thai restaurant will also soon open in this strip. Then, within  500 steps from the hotel, other temptations include the Nant Whiskey Bar, Bruny Island Cheese Shop, Maldinies and Rockwall Restaurants, just to name a few…

For those that like to forage for their own local produce the rooms have a well-appointed kitchen where island feasts can be prepared and enjoyed.  Wonderful fresh produce is easily sourced from the Salamanca area.

The mini bar treats will also encourage you to try some in-room sampling, with a particular focus on local Tasmanian produce   You might expect to find Boag’s Premium, Jansz Sparkling and even Dalrymple Pinot Noir in your minibar, but we haven’t seen another minibar offering, Ashbolt Sparkling Elderflower Cordial, Ashbolt Olive Oil, Tasmanian Gourmet Sauce Co. Relish, Tasmanian Gourmet Sauce Co. Raspberry Jam, Date & Ginger Biscuits - Healthy Treats by Mrs Rees and Ashgrove Cheeses.   All the prices are very reasonable, with the local beer brew just $5 a bottle over winter.

“In addition to being close to many of the foodie hot spots we are one of the top locations to stay during the annual Taste Of Tasmania and Winter Feast iconic food festivals and the weekly must do Saturday Salamanca Market. Our guests love the fact that they can walk out our door and they are amidst it all” notes General Manager, Anthea Pritchard.
