Micro Focus to host Upcoming Cyber Security Seminars for IT Professionals

MELBOURNE, July 12, 2016 — Micro Focus, the 2015 UK tech company of the year, announced today it will host a national series of upcoming breakfast seminars, focused on managing and governing identities in highly dynamic environments for cyber security professionals.

As reported by the Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report released in April 2016, a staggering 63 percent of confirmed breaches were derived from weak, default or stolen credentials. At a time when insider breaches are becoming more prevalent and costly, identity governance investments need to move beyond simply satisfying auditors to play a much larger role in reducing risk by shrinking the attack surface of excessive access.

Unfortunately, no IT organisation is immune, and in response, many IT teams focus identity governance on satisfying auditors, while half-hearted business participation results in little risk reduction. Identity governance must become more adaptive to support the needs of today’s dynamic organisations.

Travis Greene, Identity Solutions Strategist at Micro Focus, will present and answer some of the difficult challenges IT organisations face when it comes to identity governance. Travis possesses a blend of IT operations and security experience, process design, organizational leadership and technical skills. After a 10-year career as a US Naval Officer, he started in IT as a Data Center Manager for a hosting company. In early 2002, Travis joined a Managed Service Provider as the leader of the service level and continuous improvement team.

Today, Travis conducts research with Micro Focus customers, industry analysts, and partners to understand current Identity and Access Management challenges, with a focus on provisioning, governance and user activity monitoring solutions. Travis is Expert Certified in ITIL and holds a BS in Computer Science from the US Naval Academy.
