Ken Duncan launches new seminar series: Mastering Digital Photography

Announcement posted by Porter Novelli 14 Jul 2016

14th July 2016: Leading Australian landscape photographer and LUMIX ambassador Ken Duncan is putting the fun back into photography with a one-day seminar series around Australia for photographers keen to learn to take better images.

Ken Duncan says, “One of the most satisfying parts of my job is the time I spend teaching people to become better photographers. Some are seasoned pros. Some are just starting out. Some just want to take better photos of their family and their holidays. It doesn’t matter, because I’ve gained so much experience and knowledge over the years, and now I love to help people.”

Ken has designed the seminars to be easy to follow and understand, including information such as:
  • What camera types are available and the ‘standard’ lens for each format
  • Which lenses work best for different subjects – and which are right for your needs
  • Why lenses have different apertures and how to discover the “sweet spots” of your lenses
  • All about ISO – when to increase, when to decrease, and what is optimum for your camera
  • Which accessories you need and which you don’t
  • How to set up your camera – aspect ratio, metering modes, focus patterns, picture settings, custom menus, and more

Becoming familiar with these elements will allow photographers to spend less time worrying about settings and more time creating great shots and enjoying the beauty of the moment.

Ken will also clearly explain:

  • Which settings to use for various conditions
  • How to make the most of different lighting - bright sunshine, early morning or late afternoon, indoors, night photography, etc – and when & how to create artificial lighting using flash or other accessories
  • What times of day are best for different locations and subjects
  • How to find your portrait subject’s most flattering angle and help them relax
  • The elements of a great lifestyle portrait, plus critical tips for photographing children and events
  • How to effectively use social media to share and market your photos ... and more

Doug Campbell, Senior Product Manager, Imaging, Panasonic, said: “LUMIX is proud to be a supporter of Ken’s latest seminar series. Whether you’ve just bought your first digital camera, or you want to polish your existing skills, this is a great short course to develop some technical knowledge and photographic expertise.   Most of all, it is designed to give you the confidence to get out there and enjoy capturing great shots.”

The seminar ticket price of $249.75 includes morning tea, lunch & afternoon tea plus a goody bag with free gifts, discount vouchers, useful tools and tutorials. And one lucky person at each venue will win a Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX85 camera worth $1,099. To register go to www.kenduncan.com/mastering-digital
