15 July 2016, Sydney, Australia - With just one week to go until the highly anticipated Queensland Mining and Engineering Exhibition (QME) kicks off in Mackay (26 – 28 July), Exhibition Director Robby Clark has commended the mining community for its strong support of the exhibition this year despite the industry’s current market conditions.

“QME supports the industry in good times as well as in challenging times, so this year it has become particularly apparent to us just what QME means to the Mackay region.” Mr. Clark said.

“It is no secret that the mining industry in Queensland is experiencing some challenging times, however QME remains a significant event and we are very proud to bring a number of new features and experiences to this year’s exhibition to bolster the spirits of the mining community.”

As in previous years, QME has been warmly welcomed back to the region by Mackay Mayor Greg Williamson, who said that it was a privilege to confirm such a strong and enduring relationship with QME and its organisers.

“This trade show is a signature event on Mackay’s calendar, providing our region with national and international exposure, which is why Mackay Regional Council is a proud supporter of QME and is keen for it to remain a permanent fixture,” Mayor Williamson said.
