Citygreen sponsors street tree research via Treenet

Announcement posted by Citygreen Systems 22 Aug 2016

Leading innovator of urban landscape solutions, Citygreen, today announced that it will sponsor important street tree research as an institutional member of Treenet – an independent, non-profit organisation dedicated to improving urban forests.

Based at the University of Adelaide’s Waite Arboretum in Urrbrae, South Australia, Treenet’s core education and research operations rely heavily on the generosity of voluntary institutional membership sponsorships – including participating councils, nurseries, allied industry groups, and like-minded organisations, such as Citygreen.

Treenet aims to:

·         Advocate and promote the values of the urban forest.

·         Enhance the body of knowledge that exists about street trees.

·         Foster research and participate in street trials and distribute resulting information to those who may find it useful.

Citygreen Founder, Ben Gooden, says, “We’re proud to support Treenet as an institutional member and sponsor of ongoing street tree research with the objective of improving our urban forests. This work aligns closely to our own overarching vision: a world where sustainable green space is within reach of every person, every day – and natural resources are utilized (not wasted) for the benefit of mankind.”
