Introducing the AMT-5568A from Amtex Electronics
The AMT-N5568A as developed and manufactured by Amtex Electronics is rugged, fully sealed display and computing system enclosure that houses a Single Board Computer with an Intel Tillamook 266MHz CPU.
Ideally suited for trade and warehouse environments, the system features an LGPhilips 10.4 diameter TFT LCD display and Infrared touch screen. TFT LCD displays typically waste less space and energy than their outmoded CRT counterparts and the sealing of the enclosure of this system makes it a match for the dirt, dust and grit of harsh working environments.
Another feature of the AMT-N5568A is the addition of a PC/104 PCMCIA carrier that accommodates a wireless LAN card. The WLAN output is facilitated via an external RF connection designed for connection to an antenna suitable to the application.
One application where this computing system has proven itself is in forklift navigation. Information from the process network is sent via WLAN to the PC as mounted on the forklift. Information is displayed on the screen, describing to the driver his destination within the warehouse, which stock is to be picked up and where to load it.
The touch screen allows the driver to provide feedback to the system, acknowledging when an action has been completed so the network can automatically update inventory levels and continue to instruct the driver of forthcoming jobs.
The AMT-N5568A is easily serviced when needed, with not only a quick turn around time for repairs but it also has local engineering support. Major sub-assemblies are carried in stock and the AMT-N5568A can also be designed to meet customer specifications, helping to customize your IT equipment to suit your business.
