Finalists announced for the 2016 ADMA AC&E Awards

Announcement posted by ADMA 21 Sep 2016

Sydney, 21 September 2016 – Following weeks of intense online judging by 86 of the country’s top marketing, media and advertising gurus, ADMA is pleased to announce the finalists in 30 categories + 9 Pinnacle Awards for the 2016 Australian Creativity and Effectiveness (AC&E) Awards.

The list of finalists can be found here: https://www.adma.com.au/events/2016/acandeawards/finalists and the winners will be announced at the annual AC&E Awards Gala Dinner at the Star in Pyrmont, Sydney on Thursday, 27 October 2016. Tickets can be purchased here: https://www.adma.com.au/events/2016/acandeawards/gala-dinner

The AC&E Awards are the only industry awards to reward campaigns that demonstrated creativity and effectiveness in equal proportion.

ADMA CEO Jodie Sangster said agencies and clients once again supported the new awards regime with nearly 500 entries submitted this year. She noted the judges, specialising in areas such as marketing, media, data, content, technology, social and PR, were impressed with the quality and number of campaigns that met the joint creativity and effectiveness criteria. She also noted the introduction of a new Audit Committee process introduced for added rigour in awarding campaigns that have legitimately proven an equal balance between creativity and effectiveness.

This year it was harder than ever to become a finalist and although our entries were up, our finalists numbers across some categories were down, as judges felt that some campaigns didn’t meet the criteria to progress.

“Marketing today requires both creativity and effectiveness. Campaigns that deliver both in equal measure drive an emotional engagement with customers while delivering outcomes and results that business demands,” she said.

“To be a finalist in the AC&E Awards is an incredible achievement. Judging is rigorous and even more so this year with the introduction of our Audit Committee. It’s great to see so many agencies and clients supporting our philosophy on achieving a balance; we’re excited to be building a culture in our industry focused on both effectiveness and creativity.”

Stuart Tucker, General Manager - Brand, Sponsorship & Marketing Operations at Commonwealth Bank and Chairman of this year’s AC&E Awards judging said, “Once again there was an exceptionally high standard for this years’ awards. We are continuing to see the shift from traditional marketing to the new world of integrated, digitally-led, multi-channel thinking. The very best of these ideas not only demonstrate brilliant creativity, but also deliver measurable business outcomes. The judging process was intense, but we look forward to seeing all the finalists at the award event on 27 October and crowning the deserved winners.”

Established in 2014, by ADMA, Australia’s peak marketing body, the AC&E Awards recognise and celebrate the best marketing, advertising and media campaigns of the year that demonstrate both creativity and effectiveness in equal measure. Judging also includes accolades for the hotly-contested Young Marketer of the Year and Young Creative of the Year.
