FRANK’S TASSIE PEAR CIDER SPARKLES IN SYDNEY - Best in Show

Franklin Cider Company Tasmania dominated the cider/perry classes, winning both Champion Perry and Best in Show – Cider/Perry for their Frank’s Summer Pear Cider at the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW Beer and Cider Show – announced last Friday night.

Celebrating its 10 year anniversary, this national competition saw a team of 26 judges and officials adjudicate their way through almost 200 of Australia’s finest beers and ciders.

 Owned by the Clark family since 1836, Clark-Port represents the sixth generation to occupy Woodside, the 150 acre apple farm in the heart of Australia’s Huon Valley apple-growing region.   Its established orchard, renowned for producing high quality fruit, contains fruit trees dating back over 100 years, first planted by Clark-Port’s great grandfather.

“Unlike a number of cider products, Frank’s does not include fruit concentrates in the production process. The results are cider products with a very distinctive natural fruit flavour, instantly delivering a just picked taste experience for both the apple and pear products. This approach is obviously working well for us. We are pleased that our apple cider was awarded a bronze medal too” adds Naomie Clark.

The Franklin Cider Co. is a collaboration between Naomie Clark-Port, Tony Port and highly regarded Wine Making Tasmania.
