AutoCAD® Alternative Offers Perpetual License

Announcement posted by CADDIT 07 Oct 2016

Low-cost option for CAD design offers perpetual Single Seat, Mobile USB and Network Licensing

06 October, Parramatta - CADDIT announces the mature release of progeCAD 2017.0.8.26 as both native 32-bit and 64-bit versions at prices starting less than AUD$600. progeCAD is long known in Australia as a practical option for producing AutoCAD-compatible drawings within a similar CAD environment and using similar commands. As a general-purpose CAD drawing program, progeCAD is used in a wide range of industries including building and construction drawings, civil and land survey, electrical schematics, sound and lighting plans, industrial and mining, legal and real estate planning and much more. progeCAD has always used the Autodesk DWG and DXF as native storage formats, so no conversion  on import or export is ever needed.

However, unlike AutoCAD, progeCAD now offers a wide range of flexible perpetual licensing. A progeCAD Single-Seat license means that progeCAD can be used on a single computer with an off-site laptop option. The progeCAD mobile USB license offers greater freedom to "take their progeCAD license anywhere", back and forth on different PCs as required. For larger companies we suggest the smart control and manageability offered by the progeCAD Network (or "floating") license. The progeCAD network license allows companies to cut costs by offering a pool of "shared" licenses on a network. progeCAD Network licenses are easily managed from a central server, accessed off-site via VPN, and even to temporarily "check out" off-network to traveling or visiting users.

progeCAD come a huge distance in the last few years, countless features have been added or improved in progeCAD, including:
*progeCAD improved internal database reads and writes drawing files far faster than versions prior to 2014. progeCAD currently supports all DWG formats up to and including AutoCAD 2017 DWG format.
*Improved OpenGL graphics handles much larger files faster than before (latest benchmark is here).
*Native 64-bit architecture greatly helps with the handling of larger CAD drawings.
*Smarter, smoother mouse navigation and context options greatly improve user speed and experience. User Interface now offers an updated ribbon UI option.
*Global testing has resulted in substantial improvement in overall reliability.
*progeCAD's Improved PDF printing supports PDF layers and other optimizations.
*Greatly improved 3D, now supporting Solid Model commands like Loft, as well as improved 3D shading and rendering experience.
*New commands for DWG Tables and Fields, Point Cloud, Annotative Detailing, Multi-lines, Dynamic Blocks and more.
**One the developer's side, huge improvements as well in VBA, C++ and LISP API.

These improvements mean that users have better tools with which to do their work. We would say, if you tried progeCAD before a few years ago, this will look and feel like an entirely different (and much better) piece of software.
