Model with disability wows Brisbane audience on the fashion runway

Announcement posted by Multicap 03 Nov 2016

On Saturday afternoon, Georgia Knoll graced the FashionAble runway at Brisbane City Hall to celebrate ability and diversity, and raise valuable funds to provide permanent homes for vulnerable people with disability.
Over 170 guests, including Brisbane Lord Mayor Graham Quirk, enjoyed a high tea and two parades compered by Brisbane fashion legend Di Cant. Stylist Karmyn Thomas worked her magic behind the scenes to create stunning parades with clothing and accessories provided by some of Australia’s top designers.

Multicap CEO Joanne Jessop and FashionAble special guest model Georgia Knoll were beautifully accessorised with stunning jewellery on loan from presenting partner Michael Hill.

A silent auction attracted many bids and a number of FashionAble guests were successful in obtaining a stylish fashion bargain.

The star of the show was without doubt Georgia Knoll. Her quirky style, coupled with her flair for working the runway, left every member of the audience with a smile on their face and warmth in their hearts. Georgia is a wonderful example of people with disability achieving their dreams; her determination to succeed is inspiring.

Georgia was delighted to be part of FashionAble and proud to be a part of raising funds and awareness for Multicap and people with disability. “I just love modelling because it's my dream. I dreamed it and it became true,” Georgia said. “My favourite thing is getting my hair done, and my make-up, and seeing all the dresses.”

Georgia’s dream of becoming a model is now well on its way to becoming reality: "I want to do Paris and do modelling there; I want to do Italy, Japan and my Mum's favourite place, Dubai," she said.

Multicap CEO, Joanne Jessop said “We were delighted to welcome the beautiful Georgia Knoll to our runway at FashionAble and are incredibly thankful to all of our generous sponsors and partners, who made the event possible.”

Disability service provider Multicap worked with a team of generous sponsors and supporters to ensure FashionAble 2016 was a success. Over $8000 was raised and will assist in providing homes for people with disability on the Sunshine Coast.

Multicap would like to thank our generous supporters and sponsors.
