Bush Tucker Flying High with Qantas

Announcement posted by Kakadu Plum Co. 11 Nov 2016

Kakadu Plum will now be featured on the inflight menu of Australia's largest airline, Qantas.

Kakadu Plums are wild harvested in the Top End of Australia and are known to have the highest source of natural vitamin C of any plant in the world, up to 100 times more than oranges.

Tahlia Mandie, founder of Kakadu Plum Co. has teamed up with Sydney based Spotted Cow Cookies to create the Kakadu Plum Berry Bite.

"It is so exciting to have Qantas back this amazing idea and product," Ms Mandie says. "To see our little Kakadu Plum become a mainstream product is a significant milestone. Qantas is showing true leadership and support. Hopefully we will see more people jump on board and follow suit."

Kakadu Plum Co. has seen a remarkable increase in the demand for their Kakadu Plum Powder. “The majority of people had not even heard of Kakadu Plum twelve months ago. Now, we are seeing more and more wanting our products on their shelves, in their menu and incorporated into their products. We were hoping for international distribution by year 3. We now have distributors in Germany and USA with hopefully Dubai, Israel and other countries to soon follow. It is an exciting time for the industry,” Tahlia says

The Kakadu Plum Berry Bite will be served on the breakfast morning flights from Sydney and Brisbane.
