Activational speaker Eric Bailey to help formerly homeless

Announcement posted by Wings Public Relations Pty Ltd 17 Nov 2016

Breakfast in South Brisbane tomorrow - Friday 18 November 2016

Renowned ‘activational speaker’ Eric Bailey will visit Brisbane Common Ground tomorrow (Friday 18 November) to support The Business of Hope, an organisation aiming to help formerly homeless start their own businesses.

As one of the world’s foremost speakers on motivation and vision, Eric Bailey will present at a breakfast function, drawing on his successful careers in professional sport, executive management and sales. Profits from ticket sales will support The Business of Hope.

While Eric had a difficult start growing up in South Central Los Angeles, he has gone on to deliver powerful and inspiring keynotes that speak to every group and gender. In fact, Eric has spoken to more than three million people worldwide and is Google ranked No. 1 Activational Speaker.

Deb Jones, founder of ‘The Business of Hope’ believes the answer to poverty in Australia lies in the untapped small business potential of our formerly homeless and now she needs the community’s help to prove it.

Two and a half years ago Deb, a Life Coach who has worked in the community sector for the past 12 years, was given the contract to pilot an Employment Program for Common Ground Queensland, a model of supportive housing in South Brisbane.

After successfully delivering the employment outcomes, Deb had the brainwave of running a series of micro business courses for the tenants, half of whom have been formerly homeless.

A dozen budding entrepreneurs are now at various stages of growing their business, with ideas ranging from interior design, mobile hairdressing and personal brand t-shirts.
