Schools to benefit from TigerTurf’s partnership with Hockey Australia

Announcement posted by Tiger Turf Australia Pty Ltd 29 Nov 2016

Synthetic turf manufacturer TigerTurf and Hockey Australia have announced that they have extended their partnership for three years until 2020. TigerTurf will work with the Hookin2Hockey (H2H) program to assist schools lay multi-surface pitches. These schools will also be eligible for clinics provided by Hockey Australia and include the H2H school packs as a legacy item.

Hockey Australia’s Chief Executive Cam Vale said: “We are delighted to have extended our partnership with TigerTurf. They are a fantastic supporter of Hockey Australia and will be an important element of the work we are undergoing to further develop our Hookin2Hockey program, as well as in their continued support of our national teams.”

One of the world’s largest synthetic turf manfacturers Tiger Turf has been in production for over 35 years. TigerTurf’s Nick Kerr said, “TigerTurf is excited to extend their partnership with Hockey Australia for another three years. As a further extension of the new agreement we are particularly excited to having the TigerTurf name emblazoned across the backs of the Hockeyroos and Kookaburras shirts for the upcoming Festival of Hockey.” TigerTurf will  also be featured on the uniforms in the upcoming Trans-Tasman Trophy in New Zealand.

TigerTurf will also provide mini pitches for juniors at the International Festival of Hockey to be held in Melbourne from 23rd to 30th November 2016. All international matches are now played on artificial grass turfs. TigerTurf offers hockey turf products for three different systems – unfilled, dressed and filled and they meet the Federation of International Hockey’s (FIH) performance standards.

“It’s important that we are seen to be putting something back into the sport. We see our partnership as a great way to not only support our national teams but the sport of hockey in general. We look forward to the next 3 years and beyond in working with Hockey Australia to grow the sport,” Kerr said.
