Australian Truck and Auto Parts selects Panaseers EasyStreet VPN to link nationwide offices

Announcement posted by Panaseer 11 Sep 2001

Fully-managed telecommunications solution lets company concentrate on core business while benefiting from leading-edge network services and technology
Melbourne-based Australian Truck and Auto Parts Pty Ltd (ATAP) has selected Panaseers EasyStreet Virtual Private Network (VPN) to link its offices across Australia. The fully-managed telecommunications solution will let ATAP concentrate on its core business, while benefiting from leading-edge network services and technology.

EasyStreet VPN will link the Melbourne head office with branch offices in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth over a high capacity Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) network backbone, with tailored Frame Relay access. This structure will provide ATAP high capacity data at guaranteed service levels. ATAP will pay no capital costs for the network, and will pay a fixed, predictable monthly fee for the service.

ATAP is a leading supplier of parts and equipment to the transport industry. Recent business expansion and the implementation of a new ERP system created a need for upgraded telecommunications infrastructure.

According to Colin Linke, systems accountant with ATAP, We recently implemented a Momentum Pro ERP system. We found it difficult to use this system to its full potential because our existing carrier-based telecommunications infrastructure had inadequate data capabilities. We needed a more robust solution to cope with our changed requirements.

Panaseer judged best all-round fit
ATAP conducted an extensive search for an appropriate infrastructure solution. Solutions from four major carriers, including the incumbent, were evaluated.

Panaseers EasyStreet VPN was selected because it was judged by ATAP to be the best all-round fit.

Panaseers fully-managed EasyStreet VPN represented the best value for ATAP, as it offered a full range of services and was tailored to match our needs, Colin Linke said.

An important factor in our decision was that Panaseers EasyStreet VPN is a fully-managed solution. Panaseer will manage our data infrastructure from its state-of-the-art network operations centre (NOC) in Sydney, eliminating the need for us to have in-house expertise. All other solutions we evaluated required us to have in-house expertise.

We feel very comfortable with Panaseer, as it has demonstrated a commitment to partner with us and a commitment to our transport and logistics industry market segment.

ATAPs EasyStreet VPN service is currently being implemented.
