Startup&Angels launches its first edition outside of Australia, in Cambodia’s emerging mark

Startup&Angels is hosting its first edition in Phnom Penh, on Thursday 23 February 2017 at Raintree Cambodia.


Sydney, Monday 30 January 2017 - After several successful editions in Sydney, Australia, gathering more than 400 attendees, and more than 30 top speakers, Startup&Angels is hosting its first edition outside of Australia in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, on Thursday 23 February 2017 at Raintree Cambodia.

This will be one of the biggest tech and startup events so far in this emerging market in South East Asia, gathering local and international speakers around new technologies and innovation in this booming market.

Startup&Angels Phnom Penh will gather entrepreneurs, founders, developers, business angels, investors and medias around 10 top local and international speakers at Raintree Cambodia, from 5pm to 9.30pm, in partnership with the biggest online media in the country, KhmerLoad.com and the local marketing agency 360 Ads & Events.

Local entrepreneurs, founders, doers and shakers will speak about their startups and journeys so far, such as Vichet In, co-founder of KhmerLoad.com, the Buzzfeed of Cambodia ; Maxime Rosburger, co-founder of MealTemple.com, the Deliveroo of Cambodia ; Shivam Tripathi, co-founder of CamboTicket.com, an online booking system for travel in Cambodia ; Mean In, co-founder of KhmerHome.com, the RealEstate.com.au of Cambodia ; Langda Chea, co-founder of BookMeBus.com, the leading bus booking system in the country or Sopheakmonkol Sok, co-founder of Codingate, one of the top web services company around. International speakers will also be part of the event, such as Jon Yau, the founder of StockPhoto.com, who bought his domain name online for $250,000 and get breakeven within 1 month, or Axel Peyriere, an enthusiastic business angel and mentor specialised in emerging markets, partner at Wombat Capital Australia. Other speakers will also be announced soon.

Attendees will hear the different talks around some drinks and food and will then be able to discuss with the other attendees and extend their network through the event. Two panels will give some insights on investing and building a startup in the country.
