DNA security tech available to homeowners

Announcement posted by Prak Communications Pty Ltd "Prakky" 07 Feb 2017

Users can watch their home from anywhere around the world

The DNA company whose technology played a key role in the recent conviction of two men who threatened hotel gaming staff has released a security option for home owners.

DNA Security Solutions, based in South Australia, has provided anti-theft products to businesses around the country since 2007 - in particular in the hospitality, gaming and retail sectors. Now it has launched DNA IHome, which will enable home owners to have their own system of surveillance and DNA tagging.

Managing Director Tania Jolley said DNA IHome could be pivotal in helping home owners maintain surveillance over their properties and mark intruders with synthetic DNA in the same way businesses have been using the company’s DNA Guardian technology for years.

“DNA IHome is a simple wireless system that can include plug-n-play cameras and integrate into the DNA system for people who do not have an expensive camera system in their home,” Ms Jolley said.

How it works:

·         Users scan the barcode of their DNA IHome camera into their phone.

·         That registers them with the DNA IHome smartphone app.

·         Users can then dial into their cameras from anywhere in the world and watch their home from their phones.

“If users see an intruder in their home, they can turn on the DNA spray system via their app. They are then using world-class DNA marking technology designed with the input of police, forensics and others,” Ms Jolley said.

The DNA marker spray links the intruder directly to the crime and this DNA evidence is incredibly useful to irrefutably place the criminal at the crime scene.

“As long as you have an internet connection, within seconds you can have eyes on your property,” Ms Jolley said. “For home owners, this is quite revolutionary and will give so many people peace of mind when they’re away from home.”
