Keystone Panels Used in New East Sydney Preschool Project

Announcement posted by Keystone Acoustics 17 Feb 2017

Keystone products are being used in the construction of the new East Sydney Early Learning Centre that will be launched this year. The 60-place vertical preschool in Darlinghurst designed by Andrew Burges Architects is one of the six planned to remedy a shortage of early education centres in the city.

Keystone linings are being used to create the recreational environment of the childcare centre. In the internal street environment, KEY-PY whitewashed wall panels and custom perforated ceiling panels are featured in the mini dwellings. In the section with the central plaza environment KEY-ENDURA slotted vents can be seen adding interest to the walls. Walking through the internal urban like streets and laneways, KEY-LENA custom-shaped perforated panels can be found on the fringe of its mini urban ceiling infrastructure.

This project involves the adaptive re-use of an existing 4-storey industrial building for the preschool. The Early Learning Centre will be connected to the existing John Birt Memorial Playground across a laneway via a bridge. The plan includes a multi-functional community facility and kitchen too.

At the event organised to launch the centre there were speeches by Lord Mayor and Andrew Burges. The programme also featured various kinds of family entertainment that included a DJ, kids face painting and a smoke ceremony by Matthew Doyle.

Keystone has a 40-year track record of providing the best quality ceiling, lining and wall panels. Over the years, they have earned a reputation for precision and product consistency.

Their extensive list of eco-friendly and fully customisable fire rated options are excellent for construction of beautiful, functional and totally unique spaces.

Keystone offers custom-designed panels that fit every requirement. Fixing apertures, slotting and radius corners are undertaken directly at their production facility, thus ensuring accuracy when a panel is fitted to be a part of a larger fabrication or structure.
