New Partner to Increase Peer Nominations, New Category for Outstanding Individual
The Service Providers Association (SPAN) today kick-started the search for the 2005 winners of its prestigious Annual Awards by announcing a new partnership with Communications Day.
SPAN Chairman, John Kranenburg, said, The SPAN Awards have long been recognised as the celebration of individuals and organisations that have contributed most to the advancement of the Service Providers industry in Australia. By partnering with CommsDay we can now significantly extend the opportunities for peer nominations, enabling these awards to acknowledge excellence across a wider range of industry activities.
In addition to the well-established SPAN Awards categories for excellence in innovation, competition and growth, the SPAN CommsDay Awards will introduce new categories - including what is expected to be a hotly contested and highly prized "Ambassador of the Year Award. This Award has been designed to acknowledge the years outstanding individual contributor to the industry.
Nominations for all Awards will be sought from the industry, using both SPAN and CommsDay channels, from mid-May to the end of June. The short-listed nominees will be announced in July and invited to make a submission to the independent judging panel.
Winners will be announced and presented with their awards at the SPAN Annual Dinner on 1 September in Sydney.
Chief Editor of Communications Day, Natalie Apostolou, said, Were in the business of keeping the industry abreast of the newsmakers and events that influence and shape the dynamic Australian telecommunications environment. In so doing, we see it all the good, the bad and the ugly. But we have not, to date, had the opportunity to acknowledge the contribution of the industrys truly excellent performers. Our partnership with SPAN will enable us to contribute our judgement to the industrys annual celebration of its achievements.
