Announcement posted by XSI Data Solutions 21 Feb 2003
The winners were selected by a panel of independent storage analysts, storage specialists from the IT community, and technical journalists who made their choices based on a combination of product features that included performance, ease of use, integration, innovation and overall value. Award recipients were judged "must" entrants on any IT department's list of products to evaluate. Winners were announced in five storage categories from among 39 entrants. The judging panel called the Scalar 24 "tough to beat" in the backup harder category based on its combination of value and performance. Other storage product award winners include products from Network Appliance, Fujitsu, Veritas and Brocade.
"This award confirms Scalar 24 as a premier entry-level library with an industry leading combination of enterprise-class performance and high value," said Bill Britts, ADIC Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "We are pleased to have it recognized by the broad IT community as an innovative contribution to network data protection."
Introduced in September 2002, the Scalar 24 offers the industry's best value for enterprise-class performance, with a price point low enough to reduce the cost of high performance backup by 30% or more. The library combines easy-to-use, scalable management, a trouble-free upgrade path, the latest SDLT/LTO technology and a complete storage networking architecture to deliver an ideal solution for any business that has outgrown the capabilities of autoloaders or stand-alone drives.
