1.5GB, 2GB, and 3GB CompactFlash Cards from Pretec
Pretec Electronics Corp, have announced that they are releasing 1.5 gigabyte (GB), 2GB and 3GB CompactFlash (CF) Cards, the highest capacity of any small form factor flash memory card in the world. The new devices offer a great solution to the need for high capacity storage dictated by the ever increasing demand for storing large digital content files, such as audio, digital still and video images. The highest capacity CF card currently available in the market is 1GB, also available from Pretec. Industrial and military grade 1.5GB, 2GB and 3GB CF cards will also be available.
Designed with precision mechanics and full metal protection, these breakthrough products can sustain a wide range (-40 deg C - 125 deg C) of working temperatures and offer the ultimate level of new data protection and security features to prevent users image files, software, crucial data and products from being damaged. The card supports the ATA/True IDE standard and consumes low power when operating, so it ideal for applications used in harsh environments such as military aircraft, medical instrumentation, transportation vehicles etc.
Price and Availability
The new high capacity CompactFlash cards will be available from Verbatim in Quarter 1 2003. RRPs inc GST will be as follows: 1.5GB - $2699, 2GB - $4499, 3GB- $7299.
