Fierce competition for commercial property is allowing Australian enterprise to make new investments in improved operations, according to Jose Lobato, General Manager of Metquip Systems.
I see client after client moving from older locations to new, purpose-built facilities on the city fringe where transport infrastructure and dedicated business services are on their doorstep, he says. Their costs go way down, efficiencies skyrocket and they use the savings to invest in new tools and technologies to improve their ability to execute as well as the bottom line.
For Metquip Systems, this trend has sent sales of the companys Industrial Automation software and demand for its consultancy soaring. We grew 20% last year alone, Lobato said. Manufacturers have known for years that finer control of their manufacturing processes translates into greater efficiency, reliability and profit. Now they have the resources to invest and Metquip Systems is very well placed to assist them as they plan their improvements.
Metquip Systems itself will heed the call and move to the Sydney suburb of Homebush. We heard so many good stories from our clients who have moved to Sydneys West that we looked into ourselves, Lobato said. We now think that west Sydney will become the new heart of Australian manufacturing. Working from a more central location with better infrastructure will position Metquip Systems ideally to serve all our customers better.
The company is also expanding its Melbourne office where an additional engineer has been hired to serve local customers. Brisbane has not been neglected either, as the company will soon expand and hire additional personnel with particular specialists to serve better his growing customer base
