“A vibrant exhibition filled with works that challenge us to reconsider countless aspects of our lives and the world around us.” Jacqueline Schultze, independent curator and arts consultant

Both the gentle rhythms of life and the momentous shifts that shape our world and ourselves are represented in more than 40 works that tell social and environmental stories as ebb and flow travels from its premiere at Wallarobba Arts & Cultural Centre in Hornsby through the Belconnen Arts Centre and now on at Muswellbrook Regional Arts Centre.

Free workshops for beginners
In conjunction with the exhibition, two untethered fibre artists will offer workshops at the gallery, Tiny Thread Treasures (17 June) and Natural Dye and Print (13 May). Barbara Schey will show participants how to give time-tested stitching techniques a modern twist, creating elements that can be used in collage and mixed media works, or jewellery. Samantha Tannous will reveal the magic of plant dyeing and printing on silk scarves and paper, as well as a simple embossing technique.

Each workshop is suitable for beginners and both are offered free through the gallery. Bookings are essential, and details can be found at www.muswellbrookartscentre.com.au.
