Keystone’s Products Used in University of Wollongong’s iAccelerate Centre

Announcement posted by Keystone Acoustics 30 May 2017

Keystone, the company that provides quality ceiling, lining and wall panels, has proved their reputation for precision and product consistency yet again. The company’s products Key-Ply, Key-Board and Key-Graphix have been used by ADM Architects and Project Co-ordination Builders for the University of Wollongong’s iAccelerate Centre.

The iAccelerate Centre at Innovation Campus Wollongong, a purpose-built 4000sqm business centre, is set to become the permanent home for over 280 startup companies. The three-storey iAccelerate Centre features ‘plug and go’ expandable space at the UOW’s Innovation Campus. The funding for the centre came from the NSW Government’s Restart Illawarra Infrastructure Fund, which provided $100 million funding for 12 projects in the region.

The project was handled by ADM Architects while the builders were Project Coordination (Australia) Pty Ltd. Project management was carried out by CBRE Project Management and UOW Commercial Developments Unit. The iAccelerate Centre’s facilities include 39 offices, 12 meeting rooms (including 2 public meeting rooms), six breakout spaces, two co-working spaces and one roof top terrace with a container bar.

Keystone’s products Key-Ply, Key-Board and Key-Graphix were used in this project. Key-Ply Eco Maple plywood was custom slotted to the architect’s design requirements and prefinished with clear finish and sK100 acoustic backing. These plywood panels create a natural and organic timber appearance and is preferred because of its warmth, beauty and natural acoustic properties.

Key-Board plasterboard is an ideal choice for acoustic wall and ceiling panels due to its superior acoustic qualities. This product is economical and easy to install with recessed edges for a seamless joint. The plasterboard was custom made and slotted to match according to the overall design. Key-Graphix and Key-Ply Eco maple feature in the reception wall and was custom perforated to reflect University logo.

Keystone has served Australia for 40 years. They only use the best plywood available which is sourced from accredited manufactures. Their extensive list of eco-friendly and fully customisable fire rated options are excellent for construction of beautiful, functional and totally unique spaces.

The company is a favorite for many projects as they offer custom-designed panels that fits every requirement. They manufacture fixing apertures, slotting and radius corners directly at their production facility, thus ensuring accuracy when a panel is fitted to be a part of a larger fabrication or structure.
