LightPulse LP9802 Provides Flexibility and Scalability For High Performance SANs
Emulex Corporation (NYSE:ELX), the world's leading supplier of storage networking host bus adapters (HBAs), today announced that its LightPulse 2Gb/s LP9802 PCI-X HBA has achieved Solaris(tm) Ready Certification from Sun Microsystems, Inc. Emulex HBAs that have previously obtained Solaris Ready Certification include its 2Gb/s LP9002L, the SBus LP9002S, the dual channel LP9002DC and the CompactPCI LP9002C host bus adapters.
The Solaris Ready program provides customers with a recognizable symbol for tested Solaris network server solutions from third-party providers. To receive the Solaris Ready designation, products must complete a rigorous testing process conducted by an independent testing laboratory. Products are evaluated for interoperability, platform support, Solaris platform compliance, ease-of-installation, driver compatibility and product documentation.

Emulex's LP9802 Fibre Channel PCI-X HBA is optimized for Sun Microsystems servers providing support for 2Gb/s Fibre Channel data rates, while delivering industry-leading performance. The LP9802 features automatic speed negotiation capability, which allows for complete compatibility with existing 1Gb/s Fibre Channel SANs and allows seamless upgrades to higher speed, more complex 2Gb/s SANs.
