WHY INTUITION IS IMPORTANT FOR BUSINESS OWNERS

People often believe they have to think with their head not their heart when it comes to business. But what they don’t understand is when you’re a successful business person, you already know the business logic; you already understand the business base. So when your heart gives you a message, this is your “gut” talking, also known as your intuition, according to Dee Gibson.

Business acumen and intuition are both needed in order to be successful. But what exactly is intuition?

Many people say that intuition is making a decision without using reasoning or consideration of conscious thought; however, Dee argues that this is in fact not the case at all. Intuition is simply the ability to understand something instinctively. The word intuition comes from the Latin verb intueri translated as “consider” or from the late Middle-English word intuit, “to contemplate”. It’s your business “gut” combined with your “heart” gut, and it has already processed through your brain before it hits that area of feeling—so trust it.

If it doesn't make sense, work out why and then gradually learn to trust your body’s signals, your own messages that you have the ability to access; it’s a lost art. Once you start practising and learning how to trust those gut feelings, you begin the “action” of intuition. You won’t need to actually use conscious reasoning. It will become an automatic process.

We already have the capability, and it is a different type of process that occurs when we hone the skill in successfully you can’t leave out functions of the brain. We can’t consciously leave out thought processes when we think from the gut. It isn't a separation. It is an extension. We have forgotten the art of trusting it because we live in a world of hard based visual and physical evidence.

The evidence-based theory isn’t always the most reliable when talking about instinct in a species. Just because we don’t know why doesn’t mean it can’t be trusted. It is up to people to gather their own evidence by practicing the use of personal intuition and gaining trust in their process. Let us not forget our primal instincts. Ants will leave their ground nests and move upwards, inland and up high days before a tsunami or cyclone hits. How? Instinct.
