Human capital and strong channel partnerships key to continued local success and international expansion

MELBOURNE, 12 July 2017 – Whispir has announced rapid growth and continued international expansion following its AU$11.75 million series A funding round in September 2016, anticipating 56 percent compound annual growth rate from FY15 to FY17. The Australian communications software company will have increased its staff by more than 100 percent in FY17 across Australia and New Zealand, Asia Pacific and North America.

Recent growth for Whispir in ANZ has been supported by continued expansion into international markets, with substantial success in Asia driven by large enterprise customer wins. The company expects to grow CAGR at 85 percent year-on-year.

Increasing channel diversity through partnerships with industry leaders including Telstra, Critchlow, IBM, Twilio, StarHub and TelkomTelstra is expected to further accelerate Whispir’s geographic expansion.

Dual headquartered in Melbourne and Singapore, Whispir will have added 75 new staff across ANZ and its offices in Asia and the US this financial year, with plans to more than double its workforce in the next 12 months.

Among the new employees are several key additions to the management team, including Jonathan Swift as head of product, who join to lead Whispir’s expansion plans.

Jeromy Wells, founder, CEO and chairman at Whispir, said: “Investing in an excellent leadership team is all about building a strong, experienced executive foundation to support and lead the next phase of the company’s growth.”

Whispir has also seen 68 percent year-on-year growth in transactions per customer as utilisation of the platform increases among blue-chip enterprise and government customers.

“Whispir is becoming the communications glue of the future enterprise software ecosystem,” continued Wells. “We have a bold vision for further expansion. The growth we have achieved so far will be accelerated by building on our strengths with a product pipeline that includes AI, the internet of things and data analytics.”
