Feros Care officially opens its NDIS Local Area Coordination Mackay Office

TODAY: Feros Care officially opened its National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Local Area Coordination (LAC) Mackay Office, which will be a key pivotal point in connecting people with services.
Feros Care’s NDIS Local Area Coordination Mackay Office is located at Mackay Central, Suite 5/74 Wood Street, Mackay.
Feros Care CEO Jennene Buckley said this is so much more significant than cutting the ribbon to a new office building.
“Today marks an exciting step forward for people with disability in Mackay, their family, friends and the wider community. In providing Local Area Coordination Services, and in partnering with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA), our role is to link people with disability to the NDIS, provide information about community and mainstream supports available in the region, and build the capacity of the community to be inclusive of people with disability,” she said.
Our team of Local Area Coordinators have already provided a wide range of supports, including:
Mr Des Lee, NDIA Regional Manager Queensland North, who also officiated at the opening said, “LAC services are an integral and important part of the NDIS and I am very excited to see our LAC partner Feros Care being able to open the doors to its new permanent office location in Mackay.
“Living with a disability isn’t easy, and now with LAC services in Mackay, individuals and families have a friendly and supportive organisation to turn to when they need that little bit of extra advice or support in linking with their community or navigating the web of services out there”.
Feros Care is pleased to be a NDIS partner, where it will deliver the NDIS in the community of Mackay.
This is the first Feros Care NDIS Local Area Coordination Office to open, with another four offices to open over the next few months.
