Request expansion continues with new staff appointments

Strong financial results coupled with accelerating growth ensures continued investment in specialist telecommunications expertise
Request Broadband Pty Ltd (Request), leading Australian broadband services provider, has, over the last few months, attracted a number of experienced industry professionals to join its team.
Chris Pearl has been appointed NSW State Manager with Helena Ng joining him in the support role of Customer Solution Consultant in the Request Sydney office. Pearl has recently returned to Sydney after nine years in Adelaide where his last position was working with ETSA (Electricity Trust of South Australia) and the authoritys fibre rollout statewide. Previous roles included State Manager Dun and Bradstreet. Helenas last role was three years with CoSine Communications in Singapore, HK and Korea. Prior roles were with Lucent and Alcatel in Australia. Helena has expertise in Virtual Private Network (VPN) network architecture design, integration and deployment for business customers.
To support the increasing pace of product development and the continuing expansion of its national broadband IP network, Request has appointed Steve Smith to join the companys broadband network design and development team. Smith has extensive experience in network design, having formerly worked with Bearing Point (KPMG Consulting) as a senior network architect principally on the design of broadband internet service delivery, deployment and maintenance for a major Australian carrier.
With the increasing numbers of VPNs and multi-site networks that Request has deployed and now has under management for Australian businesses, a new management role has been established with the appointment of David Gale as the companys, VPN/Multi-site Solution Delivery Manager.
Kim Wingerei is Requests new General Manager Strategic Business Development. Wingereis role is to identify and implement strategies to accelerate the growth of the Request business, particularly through acquisitions. With a varied international background that includes roles in corporate advisory, sales management within the telecommunications industry and managing systems integration companies, Kim brings an additional dimension to the Request management team," said Phil Sykes, Request CEO.
The new members of the Request team bring significant business and technical experience with their appointments. Requests key business differentiator is its ability to transform highly complex technology and systems into cost effective, broadband networking solutions that add tangible value to Australian businesses, said Sykes.
Request has won two prestigious industry awards over the last two weeks - the CommsWorld Telecomms 2003 industry award for Broadband Wholesale Carrier of the Year and the ATUG Telecommunications 2003 award for Excellence in Telecommunications.
