Revolutionary emerging author from Mt Isa takes fantasy world by storm.

Announcement posted by Ocean Reeve Publishing 08 Aug 2017

In March of this year, emerging fantasy author Melissa H. North launched her debut novel at a local Headspace event in Mt Isa, North Queensland, to a captive audience of youth and adults alike. Since then, it has been a whirlwind of activity both on and offline as this inspirational author continues to express her creative skill to the world.

Following a flurry of interviews through ABC North West and the Northwest Star, three international 5-Star reviews from noted reviewers Readers’ Favorite, and an immediate distribution contract, North has implemented a second print run of 500 as demand grows for the first book in her fantasy fiction series The Halfling.

In the later part of 2017, North is not resting on her current success as she prepares to release her first compilation of short stories in the steampunk genre titled A Confabulated Compendium of Anecdotes. Along with Book 2 of The Halfling and a steampunk novel The Secret Diary of Leonardo in development, North is preparing to hit South-East Queensland on a whirlwind tour which includes numerous book signings and attendance of the Brisbane Comic Con event in September.

Beginning with featuring at the Rodeo Street Markets in Mt Isa in August, North heads to Brisbane in September where she mixes a series of signings at over 5 bookstores, including franchise leaders Dymocks, before she makes her debut appearance at Comic Con. However, her highlight moment will be when she joins fellow author and MS sufferer, Michelle Heynen, as they scale the Story Bridge to raise awareness for MS.
